BECOMING RIGHTOUSNESS-MINDED

I Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.

Awake to righteousness. Know whom you are in Christ, that you have been made righteous. When you do it will stop the devil. He will be defeated. As long as he can convince you that you don’t have any right to the things of God, he can keep you under his thumb and sin will control your life.

Awake to righteous, become righteousness minded! You have been given everything you need to handle everything that comes your way. You are to reign in life as a king by Jesus Christ. You are to live in conformity with the Father. Almighty God, Creator of the universe, chose to come down on your level in the form of Jesus to dwell in your heart by the Holy Spirit and to give you His righteousness, His ability, and His strength. 1 John 4:4 “…because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Ephesians 3:20 tells us He is “…able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

How much confidence are you placing in the God within you? Kenneth Copeland says when the Lord spoke to his heart about this, he had no confidence in God whatsoever. He prayed and he hoped but there were no results. Then he says he grasped the reality of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God.

Jesus said that when the Spirit of Truth came, He would reveal the things of God to us. John 16:13-15...13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you. He tells that as God through the Holy Spirit began to reveal to his heart the deep truths of the new birth, of God’s righteousness in Jesus, He revealed the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s muscle, God’s mind, God’s everything and He showed how this part of the Godhead was living inside everyone that was a born- again believer. He continues the truth became deeply rooted in his spirit and he began to become righteous minded.

How then do we become righteous minded? Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. We have occupied ourselves much of the time with fleshly things. Proverbs 4:20 instructs us to attend to the Word of God. We have not done this. We have thought on sickness instead of healing, weakness instead of prosperity, sin instead of righteousness. We have attended to the other things almost completely ignoring the power of the Word of God to deliver us from the flesh.

Hebrews 5:13,14 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. We don’t know how to use the Bible. We don’t know how to believe it or how to fight Satan with it.

Only by feeding on the Word will we grow and be able to overcome the things of the flesh and function inline with God. People we have to wean ourselves off the milk and start eating the meat. Without the meat we cannot grow, and we will continue to have the same messy diapers we have had all alone. It is time for us to get strong and be able to mentor to others to get them out of their diapers.

As we grow in the Word of God we become able to have success, we no longer desire to fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
