TRUSTING GOD NO MATTER THE OUTOME

Trusting God No Matter The Outcome
You Want Me To Do What Lord

A few years ago my best friend worked for a loan company. What she encountered while employed was not only profound, it was life-changing. A lover of our Lord Jesus, she always looked for opportunities to share with others the life-giving gift of Salvation.
The goodness of God in her own life poured out to everyone she came in contact with. She was a woman who spent very little time with groups of people and the few friends she had she was very devoted to them. She often referred to them as her God friends.
She spent her time reaching out to strangers or people who the Lord placed on her heart to serve. Her focus was to reach the lost and hurting.
In her prayer time the Lord spoke to her and proceeded to tell her something was going to happen in the near future but He gave no details other than I will be with you.”

She really didn’t understand what He meant but she said “I trust You Lord.  I often hear others say the Lord speaking to you is not “Biblical” but that is false. The Bible states in John 10:27-30
My sheep HEAR My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
Let’s get back to the story. In her prayer time, she sought Wisdom from the Lord on which direction she should take concerning her job. She worked as a loan manager for a check-cashing company. She did not feel right about this type of job as many of the costumers were people who were already struggling financially, and she knew this would cause more harm than good.
She had set out to look for new employment and the Lord closed every door she tried to walk through. She didn’t have peace about leaving. She was conflicted. This did not make any sense to her because she felt the job she had was leading people into a “deeper” financial hardship.
She was very frustrated. She had the right intentions to look for employment elsewhere as this was only a temp job. A week had passed and with growing frustration she continued to look at the employment ads to no avail.
Then one morning at her job a man came in the door, walked right up to her and placed a gun to her head. He demanded all the cash out of the drawer. She was beside herself, she gave him everything in the drawer. She thought for sure this was it, the end of her life, the moment when she would be in the Presence of Jesus. To her surprise the man left without physically harming her or anyone who happened to be there at the time of the robbery.
Once she came to her senses, she pushed the panic button located underneath the cash drawer. The authorities arrived to find her shaken, scared, but alive. After this very frightening experience she made the decision to quit the job, after all who in their right mind would continue to work there? I know I would’ve quit at that very moment! God had a different plan! Trying to gather her thoughts after the police took her statement, she told her boss, “I need some time to process what happened here”.
Without hesitation her boss gave her some time off and covered her shifts for a few days. She was filled with emotion which is to be expected after experiencing what she did. Every time she tried to rest, she relived the whole experience in her mind. Crying out to God thanking Him for sparring her life at the same time trying to deal with a range of emotions, she asked “God, why me?” and He was silent.
Few weeks had passed and she continued to pray asking the Lord to help her deal with everything that happened. By this time, anger welled up inside of her. She was angry at this man for what he did to her. All of the sudden, the Lord spoke to her again reminding her about what He said couple weeks prior.
Remember, My Daughter I told you I will be with you. All you can see is what this man did to you as you see from an earthly perspective. He is My Creation. I love Him with a perfect love. My Heart grieves as this man is headed for destruction.
As she reflected what she told the Lord couple weeks back she said please forgive me Lord, I do trust You although I don’t understand.
All the sudden, He started to open her eyes and for the first time she was able to see the situation from a “different pair of eyes.”
Compassion flooded her heart. Then an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and fear engulfed her. In my opinion, I believe the Lord allowed her to feel for a brief moment what this man was going through.
Anger turned to compassion. The focus shifted from “self” to “other” and she soon had the realization that in order for this man to come to a point in his life where he made such a poor choice, there was something in him going on deeper then what she witnessed on the surface.
Then she began to pray for him. She prayed that he would receive Christ. She had forgiven this man for what he did to her. She prayed the Word over this man’s life as the Holy Spirit prompted her. Days soon turned into weeks and she continued to pray for him. As she prayed for him, the Lord did a work in her own heart.
Now several weeks had passed and of course she returned to work. She also continued to look for employment elsewhere still to no avail. We all know it’s not using Wisdom to quit one job without having a new one in place and she felt trapped.
Praying for direction and doing her part to look for employment elsewhere the Lord spoke to her and directed her to stay until she felt a release to leave. He told her that until He accomplished what He wanted she would remain there.
She was an instrument in His Hands. He was working through her because she submitted herself even though she had no clue as to what would transpire.
He shared with her in her prayer time that she would indeed be held up again by the same man. Yes! You read that correctly! Not only did He tell her that she would be robbed again, He said “This time when he comes to steal the money from the drawer, He will have the opportunity to give his life to Me and receive Salvation.”
Notice the word opportunity. The Lord directed her to place a Biblical Tract that talks about what it means to receive Salvation and the love of God.
Of course she shuttered at the thought of going through something so frightening not once but twice! She made the choice to submit fully to His Plan. She made the choice to Trust Him no matter the outcome.
Talk about Faith! That is radical Faith! As she told me this story I shuttered just listening to her! So indeed the same man came again, held a gun to her head and demanded all the money out of the drawer.
She handed him the money and he left. He left without harming her or anyone else. This time however there was an “invitation” from our Lord Jesus! An “invitation” to “receive Jesus” as his personal Savior and to be “welcomed” into God’s Family!
After this second encounter of being robbed she had a much different perspective then before. She was awe struck at the overwhelming love of God. How great the Love of God is. How much He endured on the cross because of His Great Love for ALL of mankind. Soon after the release came for her to leave her job as the door swung wide open for employment elsewhere.
She often pondered about the man who robbed her. Did he get saved? Only God knows. One could only hope. I ponder on what the outcome could have been. How the Lord never told her that nothing bad would happen. He just said “I will be with you”
Are we willing to place ourselves in harm’s way for the sake of a lost soul? Are we willing to lose our live for the sake of another? Jesus did. Jesus did because of His Great Love for ALL mankind.
