EVERYBODY MEANS EVERYBODY
Everyone Means Everyone
Romans 10:13
...For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
...For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Last year I returned to an area of Nepal which had been previously unreached by the Gospel. Our team was really excited to return and experience first-hand the fruit evidenced by the seeds of faith we had initially planted. The monthly reports we received from our local Nepali pastors had been very encouraging.
Upon arrival and throughout most of the first day I saw no one I recognized. I couldn't help but become a little concerned, "Where were the people who had enthusiastically accepted Jesus last year and were so on fire for the Lord? Had the pressure of the Hindu and Buddhist culture finally overcome this small group of believers?" Then around 4:00 pm, the room began to fill up as people came in from the fields and other places they worked. I felt a tap on my shoulder. A woman stood before me with tears in her eyes. She said through an interpreter, "Do you remember me?" I said, "Of course I do!" She said, "You led me to Jesus last year and I wanted to say thank you! He changed my life. My husband believes, as do my children, my sister and her whole family. Praise God!"
As I read our passage today, I thought back to this woman and her great love of the Lord. Certainly God would have found a way to bring His Word to this woman -- with or without me. However, I was truly blessed by serving as His chosen instrument. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Whether the CEO of a major corporation, the cashier at the local convenience store, or a Nepali woman hand-tilling the barley fields outside of Jomson in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Everyone means everyone.
Is there anyone in your life who you have excluded from hearing about God's plan for salvation? Mother, father, brother, sister, friend, acquaintance, neighbor, boss, co-worker -- anyone? Pray and ask God for the opportunity to share your faith today. When that little voice inside says, "Say something about Jesus!" Do it. You and the person you are speaking to will be forever blessed.
