ROSE AND LINDA'S JOURNAL PAUL'S WARNING

Galatins 5:16-26

Just before Paul gave us the list of the  Fruit of the Spirit, he gave us a strong warning.  He begins saying 'Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.' Then starting in verse 19-21 he lists the works of the flesh

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, out bursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries.

Paul then tells us at the end of verse 21, 'I tell you beforehand as I have told you before, that those that practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.'  Harsh but true words, sin cannot enter into heaven.  These are sins.  Scripture does not say these are unpardonable sins.  We can be forgiven if we ask and abstain from these things.

Again in 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 Paul list sins again leaving out some and adding others:  fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetousness, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners.

In verse 11 he says, 'And such were some of you.  But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of the Lord.'  What Paul is letting us know is that once we have been pardoned/forgiven from these sins and no later live in them, we are clean, and can now enter into the Kingdom of God.

Praise the Lord for forgiveness.

God Bless
