When the apostle Paul used the word “hope”, he didn’t mean wishful thinking about the future. The Biblicalview of hope is a certainty that affects the way that we live now. When Christ died for our sin and rose from the dead, He poured out the Holy Spirit to reveal this hope of glory in our heart. This revelation is like a down payment toward the certainty of a glorious future with God, which empowers us to live fully now. If God is for us, who can be against us? We are called to live in that reality today.
