HOW TO PRAY PART THREE

So what else do we need to pray and be successful? It is not enough that we know we need to pray, we need to know why.

Ephesians 4:14-16 (King James Version)

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

The success of your prayer life is in your faith. Faith is what causes your prayers to bring results. Faith pleases God; it pleases God to answer your prayers.

Hebrews 11:6 (King James Version)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

You can only have faith to the extent and knowledge that you have of God. To increase your faith, you need to spend time in God’s word. The better acquainted you are with Him, the stronger your faith will be. Being a part of God’s family gives you the right to expect that your prayers will be answered.

To have success, you must expect results. Hoping is not the same as believing you receive. The promises of God will bring hope in hopeless situations, but by itself hope has no substance. Faith brings hope into reality. Faith is what gives hope substance.

Hebrews 11:1 (King James Version)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hope is future, faith is now.

Base your prayers on God’s Word. God’s Word is the integrity of God Himself.
John 17:17 (King James Version)
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

God’s Word is His will. When you pray in line with the word, you automatically are in line with the Word of God. Search God’s Word for your answer. God’s will-Jesus paid the full price not only for your sin, but sickness, disease and the consequences of sin. Think about that for a bit, not just your sins but also the consequences of those sins.

Once you have prayed, trust. Stand your ground. If the devil try's to tell you it isn’t going to happen for whatever reason, Tell him it is written…. Matthew 4:1-11 (King James Version)
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
The devil has no defense against the Word of God, when a believer speaks it in faith.

When you begin your prayer based on the Word of God you are starting with the answer. God’s Word contains the answer to every problem that could confront you.
Mark 11:24 (King James Version)
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
You have to believe to receive. Don’t wait to see an answer.
Numbers 23:19 (King James Version)
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Trust God’s integrity, apply your faith.
How do we get faith? Where does it come from?
Romans 10:17 (King James Version)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 12:3 (King James Version)
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Faith must be developed, and that can only happen by spending time in God’s Word. The amount of faith you have is directly related to how much knowledge you have of God. You already have faith, now you need a personal knowledge of God. The only way is to spend time in His Word.

Till tomorrow
God Bless
