HOW TO PRAY PART TWO
As I mentioned we will now look at the LORD”S Prayer. This is how Jesus told us to pray. We looked at some ways not to pray in “How not to pray” so now let us look at the right way to pray.
The Lord’s Prayer was meant to be used as a guide. When we look at it closely it guides us to a way to pray. The [ ] brackets are LJG, and the { } brackets are rECj.
Matthew 6:5-15
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
[God our Father lives in heaven, but yet He lives in my heart, blessed, praise be Thy name.] {My Father, yeah mine, the one who knows me by name. And He lives right up there in heaven , but He lives inside me also, the Comforter. Hallowed be they Name—thy Name, which is God, Mighty, Strong, Prominent, Creator, Preserver, All Sufficient, Provider, Healer, Our Banner, Lord Who Sanctifies, Our Peace, Shepard, Judge, Our Righteousness, Is There, Lord of Hosts, Our Redeemer, Most High, Shield, The Branch, Stone, Holy One, Everlasting God, God of Seeing, Wonderful, Counselor, Jealous, Prince of Peace, Deliver, Savior, The First and Last. And this is not all His names.}
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[Thy blessing, spirit that we will do on earth as it is done in heaven. Which means to be happy, rejoice, getting alone with everyone, no doubts, no tears, no troubles total happiness.] {That God’s most perfect will, is all that there is in heaven. God desires the same for us here on earth.}
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
[That He is going to supply all my needs and take care of me and guide my feet, thoughts and hands and of course my mouth.] {Daily bread is what we need to survive, and He will furnish everything that we need.}
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
[He forgives me of my faults and wrong doing as soon as I ask and we are to forgive just as quickly as He does.] {Just as it is right and just for God to forgive us, it is only fair that He does it for us, only as we do it for others.}
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
[Don't let me walk, talk, think into the temptations of the world or those around me, He will keep evil from me. He is totally in charge. He has everything under control. He is all-powerful and I need to remember and give in to His glory and protection. Even when I make a mistake and fall, once I go to Him and repent, He in all His glory gladly and freely forgives me and doesn't keep reminding me what I done over and over again.] {If we ask He will not lead us into anything that can harm us. And if we do step out of His will, He will deliver us up out of it. He is the Kingdom, He is the Power, and He is the Glory.}
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Now how much more can you ask of our Lord? Jesus has given us a perfect example. We read in the New Testament how He would go off and pray for hours. Spending time in prayer prepares us to effectively live in this world and do the will of Jesus. Everything in our life needs to be backed by prayer to be successful. It is the key to success in very area of your life.
Tomorrow we will continue.
God Bless
