COMPROMISE

WORD OF WISDOM
INIQUITY ~ perversity, i.e. (moral) evil:--fault, iniquity, mischief, punishment (of iniquity), sin, do amiss, bow down, make crooked, commit iniquity, pervert, (do) perverse(-ly), trouble, X turn, do wickedly, do wrong. The Hebrew meaning as used in Psalms 119:3 in the King James.

Source: Strong's Concordance

rECj and me were talking this morning and got on the subject of our ability to compromise. As we have mentioned so many times in our articles, the Bible we believe in and go with is the King James Bible. So, I looked up the word "compromise" in Strong's Concordance. Nope, the word compromise isn't in the King James. But it is in the New Living Testament. First, the verses in the King James and second are the way they are stated in the New Living Testament.

Psalms 119:3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

Psalms 110:3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
Proverbs 25:26 If the godly compromise with the wicked, it is like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.

This is what Webster's Dictionary gives for the definition of compromise: 1 a : settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions b : something intermediate between or blending qualities of two different things
2 : a concession to something derogatory or prejudicial

Where in Webster's does it mention anything concerning "iniquity?" I just plain don't see it mentioned anywhere in Webster's definition do you?

We compromise cause we want too. Because it is easier to do so than to fight or stand for what we really believe in. Then too, if you will take a while to think about it, it might be because we really don't believe in God. No, there is no way it will be easy for those of us who truly believe in the whole word and truth of God to go willingly into a state of compromise. We have come into a state where we just plain like to have our ears tickled. Not really wanting to hear the Word of God and what we have, as believers, have to do to stay the course for God.

Those who are most happy, who are preserved most free from the defilement of sin, who simply believe God's testimonies, and depend on His promises. If the heart be divided between Him and the world, it is evil. But the saints carefully avoid all sin; they are conscious of much evil that clogs them in the ways of God, but not of that wickedness (one of which is compromise) which draws them out of those ways.

For if we are ruled by God's Spirit we will embrace no doctrine but His.

God's Blessings to each of you,
LJG/rECj
