THE JOY OF THE LORD

WORD OF WISDOM
REDEEMER ~ Hebrews goel; i.e., one charged with the duty of restoring the rights of another and avenging his wrongs (Leviticus 25:48, 49; Numbers 5:8; Ruth 4:1; Job 19:25; Psalm 19:14; 78:35, etc.). This title is peculiarly applied to Christ. He redeems us from all evil by the payment of a ransom.

{is now upon us]

How can we be full of joy with all that is going on in the world? We look to our source Christ Jesus. Those who are able to abound in laughter and joy have strong roots in the Lord. They know that as the Leader of their souls He will take care of them.

Psalm 126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

Isn't it totally amazing when we see and hear the laughter of others? Ever wonder how your friends, family, and others can have so much laughter in them when all about them trials and conflicts abound? The laughter is able to come because their hearts are in tune with the one true God. Those who are able to prevail in the every day walk of life, with disappointments and yes even failures, have the knowledge that God is going to take care of every heartache thrown at them. It is so easy when we commission God to do our thinking for us. He will put into action those things that need to be done. It is not for us to decide, but for Him to have His way in every detail of our life's.

Psalm 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

Everything works together for the good of those who love Him.

Isaiah 51:11 (King James Version) 11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Isaiah 55:12 (King James Version)12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Psalm 89:15-16 (King James Version) 15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. 16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
Psalm 118:15 (King James Version) 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
John 15:11 (King James Version) 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Job 22:26 (King James Version)26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
Psalm 33:21 (King James Version) 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Nehemiah 8:10 (King James Version) 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
John 16:22 (King James Version) 22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Psalm 30:11 (King James Version) 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

‘God cannot endure that unfestive, mirthless attitude of ours in which we eat our bread in sorrow, with pretentious, busy haste, or even with shame. Through our daily meals He is calling us to rejoice, to keep holiday in the midst of our working day’.—Dietrich Bonhoeffer
