SUNDAY EDITORIAL
I actually enjoy giving my personal opinion on things that I see in life.
This week has been no different, there are many things that I question, and some I just stand back and oh am I the only person that doesn't think that is right.
The number one thing that stands out to me this week is the tragic death of the young Olympic Luger man. How can the officials stand there and say it is not anyone's fault but turn right around and cover the pilings with protective material and then shorten the course. What bothered me as much was someone saying that the bar gets lifted each year for more difficult and dangerous events, and they know there will be accidents, it is part of the sports.
I read of the man who died after he fell into Mt. St. Helens. They located him but were unable to get to him before he died because of the weather.
Then on a funny note I read of Oprah trying to wipe a birth mark off the face of the New Orleans Super Bowl star quarterback.
Why are people looking for excitement in ways that can be dangerous to their health? Isn't there a point when a rational person says this is good, maybe better then good and yes I can go further but is it worth the price I might have to pay?
In the past 12 months I have traveled a lot in the USA and though I saw and experienced many things there were many things I said no to. Even in my normal day to day life there are times I have said that looks wonderful but it is not worth the price I might have to pay.
Even more so as a Christian, is it worth it? The price for too many fun or exciting things in this world are not worth at all the price that people are willing to pay for that pleasure.
On a final note it is nice to know that even with all her money and staff that the renowned Ms O still has the normal short comings that most of us have. Be it asking someone when their baby is due, and they are not with child; to attempting to wipe what looks like food and is a birth mark, I think we have all done this at some point.
Remember think before you act and think before you speak.
God Bless You Indeed,
