SAVED

If someone walked up to you and asked you 'What is a Christian?' what would you say, would you be able to answer them, or would you go into overkill. Think about it for a bit. Most of us do not know how to answer, and when we do we go on and on about things that while not important are going to deep at the time. People have a way of saying to much to soon.

There is a good answer. Romans 10:9 'If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.'

The next thing is how do we do that, again the scriptures, look at Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

What I really like about this is it shows that there is a connection between the Old and New testament. Jesus came to fulfill the law and the law is from the Old testament. Together the two are complete. Alone they are good but not complete. To be a Christian we have to read and study the two together.

There are plenty of scriptures that we can read alone and they make a good point. It is in reading and studying that we come to the truth of the Word of God

God Bless
