PSALMS 118:20-21 BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
– Psalm 118:20-21 (NIV)
Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
The gate of the temple was a source of comfort for the psalmist, because it was the entryway to God’s presence. When Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”, He was painting the same picture with a twist. Jesus was the righteous One who entered the gate of the LORD for us. When we have such a great mediator between God and humanity in Jesus Christ we can be assured that God hears us. Thanks be to God!
