ROSE AND LINDA'S JOURNAL

SOWING AND REAPING

Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. 2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth , there it shall be . 4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow ; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap .

What happens when we throw our bread upon the water?  Do we return days later and find it? We remember as youngsters going to the St. Johns River and casting our bread upon the water, and the fish came up and ate it.  If we went back a few days later, there was no bread upon the water.   We should give to seven and yes even eight; and we do not know what evil is going to come to earth.  When the clouds empty their rain, yes it falls to earth where it will, just as a tree is going to lie where it has fallen, whether seen to fall or not.  A farmer knows not to cast his seeds during a wind, as it shall be blown away.  Nor will the farmer try to gather in the rain.

We need to know the signs to look for  so we know when and where to plant,  to sow and reap, to have a good harvest.  We also need to know where to not sow as well as what to not reap.  We need to know when to give, and when to harvest.  We need to know to follow the lead of God to do what He would have us do.  We sow where He tells us, He grows, we reap.

We have a choice, we can sit and wait, or get up and go.  God said ‘raise up and behold’.  Don’t go by what you see, feel or think.  Go by the direction of the Lord and you will sow and reap a harvest.

God Bless,
