Mark 7:34-35, "Then Jesus looked up to heaven, gave a deep groan, and said to the man, 'Ephphatha,' which means, 'Open up!' At once the man was able to hear, his speech impediment was removed, and he began to talk without any trouble."
What a powerful story! You can read the entire event in verses 31-37. I love how everything Jesus did was out of compassion, yet there are those verses like this one that says he looked up and groaned. I'm not sure if that was out of frustration or a heavy irritation because of the limitations that have been put on this man's life for so long.
When Jesus said, "Be opened", all the physical issues that that man had were gone in a moment....
Today, I believe that we need to pray that same prayer over our lives and our situations. "BE OPENED!" The Bible says that we would do greater works than what Jesus did when he was on the earth. He also taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
So right now I pray over everyone reading these words. I pray that things in your life that have held you back, tripped you up, brought anguish, stressed you out, attacked your body, or killed your hopes... Be opened in the name of Jesus!
No more walking around handicapped or dysfunctional. Be healed in the name of Jesus!
