WORD FROM THE BIBLE:  INFIDEL

Merriam-Webster
in·fi·del noun \ˈin-fə-dəl, -fə-ˌdel\
: a person who does not believe in a religion that someone regards as the true religion

Full Definition of INFIDEL
1:  one who is not a Christian or who opposes Christianity
2 a :  an unbeliever with respect to a particular religion
b :  one who acknowledges no religious belief
3:  a disbeliever in something specified or understood

Origin of INFIDEL
Middle English infidele, from Middle French, from Late Latin infidelis unbelieving, from Latin, unfaithful, from in- + fidelis faithful — more at fidelity
First Known Use: 15th century

Used in the Bible [these are the only two scriptures found]:
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

2 Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

As understood in the Quran/Koran
Infidel in Islam is not regarded as offensive. In Quran and per Islam religion, the Arabic or Islamic corresponding source word of infidel is 'kafir'. Kafir means one who "covers", in the sense of hiding. Thus, In Islam and Quran, kafir means one who covers, intentionally, the truth that God is the one and only one God, the Creator. Hence, according to Islamic religion, the term kafir or infidel refers to the person who does not recognize (or does not believe in) the one and only God (Allah). Accordingly, kafir or infidel includes the polytheists, hanotheists, and atheists. Any Christian or Jew, who believes in one and only one God, is known in Islam religion and in Quran as one of " the people of the book" where book means one of God holy books as the Bible, the Torah, and/or any of Heaven books. In Islam, kafir or infidel can be used to refer to Hindus, Buddhist, Sikhs, pagans, agnostics, and atheists.

[That statement can be misleading.  Until you remember when the word holy book is used, it is speaking not of the Bible but of the Quran.]

As used in the Quran/Koran:
QURAN/KORAN commands to kill infidels:

O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people. - 5:54

Fight unbelievers who are near to you. 9:123 (different translation:Believers! Make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Let them find harshness in you. (another source: ) Ye who believe! Murder those of the disbelievers....

We have done the research, you read it for yourself, and see what conclusion you come to.

God Bless
