THE WOMAN

WHO TOUCHED ME

Luke 8:45, 47 “Who touched me?“ Jesus asked, Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling at His feet.” Today we are going to look at this scripture in an entirely different light.

The Bible doesn't say whether this "woman" was a Jew or Gentile. That is telling us that the nationally of this "woman" isn't important. It says that when she heard of Jesus she threw herself into the crowd pressing toward Him. She knew in her heart that if she could just touch His garment, Mark 5:27, 28 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. That is exactly what she did.

Where is a hem? At the bottom right? Well, then my dear friends, think on this. It was His outer garment that she touched. So in this light we must remember that a shawl or outer garment would naturally be hemmed on all four sides. No, dears, it doesn't matter which side she touched, it matters that she believed in her heart that she would be healed.

Bet you have never thought of this scripture we previously mentioned (Luke 8:45, 47 “Who touched me?“ Jesus asked, Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling at His feet.”) in the following way. In order to understand, we must go back to LAW found in Lev 15:19 And if a woman have an issue, [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. The key word is APART, which means separate, isolated. The LAW states they had to be outside the gates. Now back to our woman, she had an issue of blood for 12 years, which according to the LAW she wasn't even supposed to be among the throng pressing toward Jesus. She was in disobience to the LAW but it didn't seem to bother her did it? She knew what she had to do and she did it. She didn't worry about touching Him because she knew she was unclean but the touching the hem was her faith in action. It worked. She was healed immediately.

Again, no where can I find where she was in a kneeling position when she touched His garment, clothes, hem, Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:. Only after He felt the virtue leave Him did she fall to her face trembling before Him. Ahha, here we also see why she was trembling. She thought she was going to be in trouble with Him. Instead, because He looked at her thru His CLEAN eyes, He told her, And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace., Luk 8:48. We have to remember that He told Peter that nothing that He created was unclean. Acts 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

From all this we can see that 1) our nationally doesn't matter to God...2) we have to believe...3) we can't hide from from God...4) we all must fall on our faces before God at times...5) We will be healed...6) action to our faith.

Does your faith have any action?

God's Blessings to each of you,
