WORD OF WISDOM
DEATH ~ Death is the effect of sin (Hebrews 2:14), and not a "debt of nature." It is but once (9:27), universal (Genesis 3:19), necessary (Luke 2:28-30). Jesus has by his own death taken away its sting for all his followers (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).

There is a spiritual death in trespasses and sins, i.e., the death of the soul under the power of sin (Romans 8:6; Ephesians 2:1, 3; Colossians 2:13).

THE DEATH OF CHRIST is the procuring cause incidentally of all the blessings men enjoy on earth. But specially it is the procuring cause of the actual salvation of all his people, together with all the means that lead thereto. It does not make their salvation merely possible, but certain (Matthew 18:11; Romans 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 1:4; 3:13; Ephesians 1:7; 2:16; Romans 8:32-35).

"Excellent! I have personally gone back and forth as to whether I believe the tree actually "did" something. I do believe that God created this world with everything we'd ever need. A cure for every ailment. A way to stay whole, healthy and vigorous. But I believe also that when the door was shut on the Garden, that a door was shut on that knowledge. Death was let loose in the world I believe, because a Holy God could no longer walk upon as He did with Adam. - Barbara"

The tree was in the CENTER of the Garden, Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. That, to me, means that Jesus should always be in the center of our lifes. The Tree (Jesus) standing tall, sturdy, never bending, always available to provide rest, shade and yes, even healing. Always giving us His truth for life.

Speaking of healing, yes it is all there for us, but we have to remember that not every believer understands that their healing is there just plain waiting for them to reach out a grab it. How many times have you heard them say, "my healing is on the way?" Why are they waiting for it? Don't they understand that the healing was given them the day Jesus died on the cross? Why not take what is theirs? As for me, being that Jesus has already given the healing to all, I am going to take it, I am not going to wait on it. If others want to wait they need to have their faith increased. Maybe even study a whole lot more to get the understanding they need. All the knowledge we need are written on the pages of the Bible.

The door being closed to the Garden represents the Gates of Heaven. They are closed and will stay closed until we find the key, which is accepting Jesus into our lifes. Once we do all that is required of us by God we will be allowed back into the Garden to walk with God as He intended in the first place. Oh a moment please for some shouting. Now don't that just plain make you feel so good? It does me.

Death was let loose in this world because Adam and Eve did what they were told not to do. They ate of the tree. They choose not to listen to or perhaps thought they could do what they wanted to and not be punished. In other words they had little to no faith in the words of God just as we do today. What are we told not to do or eat. Do we do it anyway? Are we punished? Yes we are but and this is very important, we have the right to be forgiven and allowed into the Garden of Life.

Barbara, you are so right to say a Holy God could no longer walk on this earth with men as He did with Adam and Eve. But He does, by gifts of His Love, His Son, and the Holy Ghost. But the greatest joy of all is the fact that we will once again walk on His earth, with Him, as He intended in the near future.

Thank you Barbara.

God's Blessings to each of you,
LJG/rECj
