GUIDELINES FOR THE USE OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS

WORD OF WISDOM
FULNESS ~ 1.) Of time (Galatians 4:4), the time appointed by God, and foretold by the prophets, when Messiah should appear.
(2.) Of Christ (John 1:16), the superabundance of grace with which he was filled.

(3.) Of the Godhead bodily dwelling in Christ (Colossians 2:9), i.e., the whole nature and attributes of God are in Christ.

(4.) Ephesians 1:23, the church as the fulness of Christ, i.e., the church makes Christ a complete and perfect head.

Motivation-love Chapter 13
Maturity-be not children in understanding...be men. 14:20
Edification-called for seven times [Verses 3-5,12,17,26] All to edify, to build up, to add to, to contribute to the common good
Order-all is to be ‘done decently and in order’ [Verses 33, 44]

JUDGING A GIFT- The exercise of an utterance gift can be judged [vs 29] by asking questions:

Does it agree with the word of God?
Does it glorify the Lord Jesus?
Does it witness with your own spirit?
Is it ministered in love?
Can it stand the test of being judged by others?
