PONDER ON THIS
Ponder on this: who are you? If right now you could do anything, yes anything, what would the real you do? We watched Granny Carter live for her husband, a good and faithful wife. She raised not only her own children but others as well. She seemed to be a fulfilled woman. The only things her and Grandpa did apart was him go to work and to the barber. Granny would go to her woman's Bible study and quilting bees. If you saw one you saw the other. Grandpa did not like to sleep anywhere but his own bed and except for a few over night trips to family the two were always at home. Then Grandpa passed away. Granny was heartbroken they had been married just short of 50 years. One morning my phone rang "is Momma with you?" "No" I said and then I will meet you at the house. within a hour all the children who lived in the area were at the house. No Momma. A neighbor saw all the cars and came over to check. She had taken Momma to the bus station early that morning and Momma had told none of us anything. A few phone calls later her baby girl found her at the bus station across the state from home. She informed us she wanted to see her baby and got on the bus and went, she was grown and didn't have to ask us could she go. The quite lady we had all known and loved was a closet gypsy. Momma lived close to 30 more years and in that time she traveled all over the USA, including spending a summer in Hawaii.
What would you do if you could do anything? Who are you? We are never to old to find out that we can go for it. Momma toke God with her everywhere she went, in fact He went ahead of her preparing her way. With God in our life we can do many things.
Who was Granny, she was a faithful wife, and when she got the chance she was a traveling gypsy at heart. Who are you today?
God Bless
