FASTING VERSUS SACRIFICE

The comparing of the two words fasting and sacrifice is important. We must each draw our own conclusion with prayer. Fasting is the absence of food. Food is that which feeds the body. Meat, rice and gravy, or greens, fruits and vegetables are only one form of food for the body. The Word of God is also food-meat- for the body. So if we are absence from words that are not spiritual then yes we can fast from words.
Surely we do not fast and go to the Lord with 'I know You can't Lord.' No we go to the Lord with Words that lift Him up and in doing so lift us up to Him. In doing so we are making a living sacrifice to the One and Only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We are not changing the Word of God by saying that fasting is not just from forsaking of meals. The Bible clearly tells us to not change or add to His Word. As I was talking to the Lord about this He brought the wonderful mother of Jesus to mind, Mary. It is when people choose to pray to Mary and lift her above the person she was in Christ that His Word is changed. Just as we should not pray to Moses, Peter or Paul.
We are not changing His word we are taking His word and looking at the whole and not the part. We are to live by every Word that came by the the Lord. Yes the Bible does say food, but again food according to the Bible is that which will subtain us spiritually as well as physical.
May we all be richly blessed from His Word, the food by which we live.

God Bless
