ACTS 7:59-60 BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
– Acts 7:59-60 (NIV)

What could cause Stephen to forgive those who were killing him? It’s hard to say, but it seems that Stephen was committed to glorifying God no matter what he faced. The faithfulness in serving widows’ tables forged character into Stephen that became the courage to face an angry crowd. It’s the little things that God puts before us that shape us to deal with the big things in our life. Don’t despise the day of small beginnings.
