WHAT NOW LORD

My daughter has a friend whose favorite expression is ‘What now Lord.” Whenever she says it around me I usually say pray. When we have done all we can do –What now Lord? - Is usually the question.

Now this girl is not saved yet. If she were she would know what to do and how to do it. But many Christians also don’t know what to do.

We all should be familiar with this scripture: Ephesians 6:13..and having done all, to stand. Stand doing what? And how do we stand? Let us look at the scriptures more closely; in fact let us look at it completely.
{I would recommend you read the entire chapter but for here I will use only verses 10- thru 13}.

Ephesians
[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

There in His word God tells us exactly how to prepare to stand. When we get up in the morning to go about our daily business and out into the world we dress for the occasion. If it is a business meeting, or a picnic in the park, even to go swimming, we take the time to dress in what will fit what we are going to do.

How much more should we dress for living in this world? Much more. Before we even begin to clothe ourselves in the worldly garments, we should clothe ourselves in our Christian garments. If we are prepared then we will be able to stand.

What now Lord? I might not know, but I am prepared for whatever comes my way. It is to late when suddenly we are confronted with something. We do not have time to run home and grab our Bible and Concordance and sit down and look up a scripture. We must always, at all times be prepared to stand.

What now Lord? Are you dressed for the unexpected? Are you prepared for what the devil can and will come against you with? Stand, yes. But you have to be prepared to stand at all times, in all places.

Are you dressed this morning? Are you ready for –what now Lord? Start making it a habit to dress properly each day, so that when the expected or unexpected happens you will be prepared to stand.

God Bless
