TO WHOM LITTLE IS NOT ENOUGH

NOTHING IS NOT ENOUGH

How is that for a thought to ponder? Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content. If I cannot be happy where I am, how then can I be happy where I might go? We might live in an old falling down house, but we are to make it the best falling down house possible.

I made curtains for a lady's kitchen one time. She custom ordered this fabric and I beaded the bottoms of each panel. The cost to her was in the hundreds of dollars for the fabric and beads, and then she had to add my cost. The curtains are beautiful, and one of a kind. Everyone that walks into her kitchen remarks on them. Psa 37:16 A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked.

Last weekend while off work, I saw a reduced picture of a chicken in a store, it cost 60 cents. Now I happen to like chickens, in fact I have a two hundred dollar framed farm scene hanging on the wall going into my kitchen. But this little chicken was cute, it caught my eye. I bought it and came home. I looked through my material and found just the right piece of fabric and some little bangles that were left over from another project. I now have chicken curtains at the window. The total cost, the 60 cents I paid for the picture.

Both kitchens are beautiful and no one would know mine was free. The point is you do the best you can with what you have. I Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. It might be old, but take care of what you have. Old can and is beautiful. Why just look at LJG and myself we are beautiful!!! (Amen)

We all know people with big beautiful homes with all the latest trimmings and they are not happy. The Bible tells us to be content where we are. Any mother will tell you the flower heads picked off weeds are beautiful floating in a glass dish on the table. They are just as beautiful if not prettier then the flowers delivered from the florist. (Amen)

If we cannot be happy with a little and take care of it, will having a bunch make us any happier? Does having the higher priced item make us any better for it? Proverbs 15:16 Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

I have Jesus as my Savior and He paid the highest price. Nothing I do or ever will do, will touch the price He paid. When the Lord blesses us we are to take care of our blessings, they might be small to others, but a blessing is a blessing. If we cannot respect the little, how can we expect Him to bless us with more?

God Bless,
