PRAY
I will never be twenty again, or thirty, or forty, not even fifty. Tomorrow is not promised to me, so I have to live in and for today. As the minutes tick away I have made it to tomorrow, only now it is today. I want to pray like my life depends on it.
My life does depend on it. I can do without if in a hurry and I suffer for it in more ways then I can list. You know what I mean if you have ever started a day without prayer. You catch yourself wishing and hoping you could start the day again, knowing in your heart that that is just not possible.
You might as I have on one of those days sent up a SOS-SAVE ONE SOUL- short for help this fool for starting the day without You Lord.
Let me start each day as though my life depended on it, and it does. Have you noticed that when faced with problems we pray harder, because we know that our life depends on it? We know that the only way we can get through is for God to take us through. We pray as though our life’s depended on it.
Yesterday cannot be redone; we can never be what we were yesterday again. We can only go forward as if our life depends on it.
As one friend told me we need to pray as though it were the air we need breath. Without air we cannot live, we are dead. Without prayer we are existing as though we were dead. We are dead to the world and all that is within it. We are alive in Christ and He is the air that we breathe. That air is prayer. We depend on it.
Just as we do not think about the air that we breath unless it becomes filled with smoke, or perfumes, or fumes in the air. We should pray as though without it we cannot breath. Our life’s depend on it.
Have you ever had someone walk by you with perfume so strong that it made you sick? Have you ever had the smoke from a fire blow in your face? Have you ever been behind a car with gas fumes so bad, you slowed down until they were out of the way? Prayer is the mask that I wear, that protects me from the fumes of the world. Without it I am in trouble; with it I walk, not in myself, I walk in Christ. My life depends on it.
When we made the decision to give our life’s to the Lord, we gave Him the authority in our life’s. He in turn gave us promises. For Him to operate in His authority, we have to pray, our life’s depend on it. Our prayers are our permission to God to have the authority in our life’s.
I don’t know about you but I want to start each day praying as thought my life depends on it. What about you?
God Bless,
