OPERATING IN THE GIFTS

Knowing about Gifts is not enough; we have to OPERATE flow in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. A more exact way to say it is that we should be available for the Holy Spirit Gifts to flow through us.

Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthian church ‘…concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.’ 1 Cor. 12:1 The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write these words and if the Lord did not want the church then to be ignorant, then I feel convinced He doesn’t want the church to be ignorant today.

Most people today are ignorant.
Some don’t even know they exist.
Some think these gifts have been done away with.
Some know a little about them, but their knowledge is very restricted.

THE MANIFESTATION GIFTS

Turn to 1 Corinthians 12:1-14.
Some observations concerning 1 Corinthians 12.
It is written to the whole church not to an individual.
Paul was telling the whole church as a GROUP to covet these things.
As the whole church covets them, the Spirit will divide to every man severally as He wills.
Not every person is going to have all these gifts. Verse 8
The Holy Spirit proclaims Jesus. Verse 3
[The gifts draw attention to Jesus and not to self.]

DIVERSITIES OF GIFTS

Verse 4 ‘Now there is diversities of gifts…’

The word ‘diversities’ simply means different. Understood as such, verses 4-6 will read: ‘There are different gifts but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but he same Lord. And there are differences of operations, but it is the same God that worketh in all.”
We need to note that all of these gifts are given so that everyone may profit [be strengthened, uplifted]. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”

1. Revelation Gifts or manifestations of the Spirit’s Knowledge:
Word of wisdom
Word of Knowledge
Discerning of Spirits
2. Power Gifts or manifestations of the Spirit’s Power.
Faith
Working of miracles
Healing
3. Inspirational Gifts or Manifestations of the Spirit’s Message
Prophecy
Tongues
Interpretation of Tongues

SPREADING OF OUR WINGS

It is now time to spread our wings and to begin to trust the Holy Spirit [and ourselves] and to EXPERIENCE these wonderful Manifestation Gifts,

The question usually is “How and where do I begin?”
Be a child of God.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit
A clean vessel
A life of prayer
Be available
Realize that you are not perfect
Walk in love
Be bold and courageous
Speak up!…or respond

CONCLUSION

God wants to use everyone of us in the manifestation gifts. Make this a matter of prayer, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and make yourself available today.
