WORD OF WISDOM
APOSTLE ~ A person sent by another; a messenger; envoy. This word is once used as a descriptive designation of Jesus Christ, the Sent of the Father (Hebrews 3:1; John 20:21).
Our Lord gave them the "keys of the kingdom," and by the gift of his Spirit fitted them to be the founders and governors of his church (John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26, 27; 16:7-15). To them, as representing his church, he gave the commission to "preach the gospel to every creature" (Matthew 28:18-20).
Judas Iscariot, one of "the twelve," fell by transgression, and Matthias was substituted in his place (Acts 1:21). Saul of Tarsus was afterwards added to their number (Acts 9:3-20; 20:4; 26:15-18; 1 Timothy 1:12; 2:7; 2 Timothy 1:11).

1 Timothy 1:12 “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me faithful, appointing me in His service.”

Each one of us has been appointed a service to do for the Lord. Just because you do not know what it is, doesn’t mean that the task is unimportant. It merely means you have not sought the Lord concerning your service.

I know a wonderful pastor’s wife who would refuse all help to clean our little church building. With a voice so lovely she did not need music, why would she want to clean toilets. As we became close I asked her one day. She said it humbled her. Everyone wanted to hear her sing, and she was invited to sing for different gatherings. She found though that the time alone in the sanctuary was her quite private time with the Lord.

People someone has to clean the toilets, not just at your house, but at church also. The grass needs to be mowed, weeds pulled. The furniture needs to be dusted, pamphlets printed. There is something for you to do.

Let us also remember that if we don't or won't do the calling of the Lord, whatever it may, God will find someone else to do it. And then, guess what, they will get the blessings that were originally intended for you. Is that what you want or need? Mar 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

How many blessings have we all missed out on simply because we won't get pride and wrong thinking out of our heads?

God Bless,
