SUNDAY EDITORIAL

WORD OF WISDOM
EASTER ~ Originally a Saxon word (Eostre), denoting a goddess of the Saxons, in honour of whom sacrifices were offered about the time of the Passover. Hence the name came to be given to the festival of the Resurrection of Christ, which occured at the time of the Passover. In the early English versions this word was frequently used as the translation of the Greek pascha (the Passover). When the Authorized Version (1611) was formed, the word "passover" was used in all passages in which this word pascha occurred, except in Act 12:4. In the Revised Version the proper word, "passover," is always used.

Where were the disciples on Easter Sunday? They were waiting on Jesus in the Upper Room.

What will you be doing today? Yes we understand that family will be gathered today. A lot will attend church services, which they don’t normally attend. Then everyone will go home to a table loaded with lots of food. The Easter egg hunt will follow, and prizes found and awarded. Everyone will be dressed in his or her best. Even the cars will be freshly washed. Everything must be clean and fresh for this day.

How much time will be spend on the Person who is the reason that the day is celebrated?
Will you take the time to get clean and fresh and go before the Lord? Will you wait on Him today as He waited on you?

The stores have all been busy. Beauty shops and manicures, clothing stores, retail stores with baskets and plastic grass, and oh yes the grocery stores have made a lot of money. How much money did you set aside for the Lord?

The reason for the celebration will be completely ignored for the most part. If Jesus had not died for us, and risen from the dead, if He had not sent the Holy Ghost to reside in us, what would we do today?

We pray that each of you will take the time today to tell your families outside of church what all this is about today.

Our prayer for each of you today: Heavenly Father we thank You for sending Your son for us, for letting Him be the sacrifice that done of us could do for ourselves. We thank You for the Holy Ghost being here at our beck and call, to comfort us, protect us, answer us, in every area of our life’s. Lord we pray that you will continue to bless each one of our readers as we all continue to seek you to grow and prosper in every area of our life’s. Thank you is really not words enough for all you have done and continue to do in our life’s. We give you all the praise and all the glory in your most awesome Name, the Name of our Salvation, Jesus Christ. Amen So Be IT.

God Bless,
