IT IS FINISHED

John 19:25-30
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26) When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold they son!
27) Then saith he to the disciple, Behold they mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
28) After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29) Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

What is finished? Everything in the Bible. All the promises, all the curses, all the cures, all things the scripture says had been accomplished. Normally people were hung on the cross, they weren't scourged. But Jesus was. As Isaiah 53:5...But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. That is why He was scourged.

On this Easter Sunday, please just remember that 'it is finished.' He came, He died, He arose. He is our reason for living. He is our strength. He is our everything. Is it 'finished' for you? Do you know the peace that only He can give? Have you let Jesus 'finish' it for you? If not you sure are missing out on a truly great blessing.

Just remember today when you are eating that "beautiful" decorated egg, what Jesus had to go thru for all of us, so that we could have another day to celebrate the "worldly" idea of what Easter means.

God's Blessing to each of you,
