DOES THIS APPLY TO US?

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

We don't write or speak in this way any longer, but our lives do the speaking for us.

He states his apostleship, not for Titus, but for the Cretian's sake, he is confirming his testimony by his outward calling and by his agreeing with all the elect from the beginning of time. As Christ was, so are ministers. In his office as a minister he is called a servant, Isa 43:10.

The faith in which all the elect, those who were chosen by God, agree, is the true and sincere knowledge of God for this purpose. That by worshipping God correctly we may at length obtain everlasting life according to the promise of God, who is the true one, this promise was shown by Him in Jesus. The elect didn't become as such because of their faith, they became elect because they received faith, to become believers, by divine will and purpose of God.

We serve God according to the amount of faith we have and we fulfill our public office with the amount of our knowledge. Paul wrote this to Titus mainly for three reasons: 1) for Titus to keep his eyes on God; 2) the churches had become careless as to the truth of God;and 3) for churches careless in the proper order of God's House.

All of us are servants of God, well, at least those of us who are slaves of sin and satan. All gospel truth is according to godliness, teaching the fear of God. The purpose of the gospel, or one anyway, is to take the mind and heart off the things of the world and raise them to heaven and the things above.

How many people know that we are servants of God without our mouth telling them so? Makes you wonder don't it?

God's Blessings to each of you,
